Grand Opening of Shanghai Disneyland Resort |
[2016-06-20] After 17 years of planning, Shanghai Disneyland Resort finally kicks open. Shanghai Disney Resort has blended unique Chinese characteristics into its architecture and performance, aiming to be the most outstanding themed park for everyone.
Shanghai Disney Resort was officially opened this month, after 5 years’ of construction. For the first stage of launching, the resort takes an area of 3.9 km² with 6 theme parks. It is the sixth Disneyland in the world and the first one on the Mainland China.
With different Chinese elements added, Shanghai Disneyland Resort gives a fresh look to all visitors. The Chinese version of the musical drama “Lion King” specially adds not only the famous legendary character Monkey King to it, but also Chinese folk songs. The “Garden of Twelves Friends” features the 12 Chinese zodiacs together with Disney’s characters.

June to August 2016:
Monday to Thursday from 09:00 to 21:00;
Friday to Sunday from 08:00 to 22:00
1 – 13 September 2016:
Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 19:00;
Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 to 21:00
