[23-9-2013] The first Southwest China’s tourist railway linking Chongqing and Dujiangyan has been launched. It is expected that the new railway service can shorten the travelling time from 6 hours to around 3 hours. The train can accommodate up to 635 passengers. Its customer-oriented design features the provision of sockets for easy access to electrical supply, baby changing stations and washrooms for disabled passengers. Currently, the train only operates on weekends. It is expected to achieve full operation in the future.
Dujiangyan city is located in the western side of Chengdu in Sichuan Province.
