Hangzhou West Lake has been designated as World Heritage Site |
24 June 2011 - the UNESCO World Heritage Committee officially announced that the Hangzhou West Lake Cultural Landscape has been designated as World Heritage. After applying for World Heritage successfully, the West Lake is the 41st World Heritage Sites of China.
In 1999, Hangzhou government officially declared the application. Then the National Heritage Board formally recommended the West Lake to the World Heritage Centre as China's 2010 declaration of the project. |
